Q. What is Invisalign? invisalign brace.jpg

Invisalign can give you the beautiful straight teeth you’ve always wanted. It works through a series of invisible, removable and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing.

So you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Thousands of adults have already benefited from treatment in America where over 3000 orthodontists have treated their patients with Invisalign

• Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces.

• Invisalign uses a series of clear removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets.

• Invisalign has been proven effective in clinical research and in orthodontic practices throughout America.

Q. How does it work?

You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss.

As you replace each aligner with the next series, your teeth will move little by little, week by week until they have straightened to the final position your orthodontist or dentist has prescribed.

You’ll visit your orthodontist about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

Q. Why Choose Straighter Teeth?

Invisalign can help you get the great smile you’ve always wanted because it’s…..

Invisalign Brace
  • Invisible, so no one can tell you’re straightening your teeth. So now you can smile more during treatment as well as after.
  • Removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing is no problem.
  • Comfortable, because it has no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means you spend less time in your orthodontist’s practice getting adjustments.
  • Invisalign also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start, so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

Q. Who does it works for?

All adults and adolescents who are after a better smile.

5 easy ways to having a perfect smile simply by Invisalign

Step 1 Visit your orthodontist at the Tracey Bell Clinic.

Step 2 Invisalign makes your aligners.

Step 3 You receive your aligners in a few weeks

Step 4 You wear your aligners

Step 5 You’ve finished treatment!!!

Fixed Braces

At our practice we are able to refer you to see a specialist regarding your treatment.

Fixed braces are often referred to as “Train Track” braces. The orthodontist attaches metal or tooth – coloured brackets, small blocks to the teeth and then runs a special wire over the brackets to pull the teeth into the right position. Because the brackets are stuck to the teeth, you won’t be able to take the brace off during your treatment.

Case Study on Dental Implants and Ceramic Crowns

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Here is one of our patients Caroline who has undergone treatment for dental implants and ceramic crowns.

Why I started
All of my life I had hated the dentist, only ever attended in pain and yes, I’d been stupid and always asked to just ‘pull it out’.

How would I regret it later? At the age of 45, I had a high power job, socially I had a very demanding job and had the added problem of a denture and teeth that just didn’t match my personality.

The Procedure
After lots of market research, I shopped around but as soon as I walked into the APT office, I knew this would be the place I was going to receive my treatment. The dentist was so competent, confident that I decided after two thorough visits, consultants and discussion I was ready to proceed.

The procedure I did choose to have was sedation. A procedure where I simply felt tired, relaxed and all by placing a small injection into the back of my hand- pure bliss.

The overall treatment was to last 6 months – I was to have dental implants in my lower jaw and replace my crown work on the upper.

Implant Replacement
I have to admit this was the treatment I was most apprehensive about even after sedation. After the procedure I did feel tender, had swelling but after two days I was back to work.

The dentist had simply placed four small titanium screws into my lower jaw and onto these to these he would place my new teeth. Simply they replaced the roots. Whilst the bone was to stick to the implants he started on the upper ones which had been placed years ago

The procedure involved drilling of my old crowns which was so much more simpler than I had ever expected.

The Results

My temporaries looked beautiful as Dr Broughton had already added length which gave me a beautiful full lip and two weeks later the results were even better.

Take a look at the photographs – I can’t believe it and I have the before and after pictures on my desk for everyone to see. I simply can’t believe it.

I left it far too long. Yes, I have sedation for my treatment but I enjoy visiting now. My smile has transformed my face, I have a much fuller lip, my jowls have disappeared and I’ve got a much different outlook on dentists thanks to Dr Broughton, APt and his staff.

APT says
Dental implants are the idea solution to replace missing teeth. With advancements in technology, same day teeth are now available that can completely transform peoples lives. Implants can be used to replace single teeth, full dentures or even partial dentures.

It is important that a thorough assessment of bone levels, medical history and past dental history is obtained. The procedure is a surgical procedure but is forever evolving with minimal discomfort to the patient.

With Caroline, combining implants, crowns and bridgework completely rejuvenated her smile, her facial appearance and changed her whole outlook on dentistry. Dentistry is changing – advances in technique enlighten the whole experience and yes most of our patients smile!

Dental Implants & Ceramic Crowns

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Here is one of our clinets, Caroline. Caroline is 45 years of age and the treatment she received was dental implants and ceramic crowns.

Why I started

A Case Study on: SmileScription

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Here is a case study on one of our clients Hayley. Hayley is 24 years old and is a student. The treatment Hayley received was Tooth Whitening and 10 Cosmetic Crowns.

Why I started
All my life I had bad teeth, I was the child that was always at the dentist. It didn’t really affect me until I went to university and achieved a role in the teenage soap ‘Hollyoaks’. I noticed how all of the cast had beautiful white, straight teeth, but mine were yellow and crooked.

The crunch came when the producer asked me ‘not to smile’ for a shoot and although I had a great phobia of the dentist, I knew I had to do something.

How I found my Dentist
I simply asked around. Nobody likes the dentist I thought, but time and time again, APT’s name came up and yes I’d have to travel, but the white straight smiles they produced would surely be worth it.

The Experience
How cool the Dentist had become. I was greeted by a beautiful nurse called Rachel, who chatted to me and asked about my expectations and fears, She really relaxed me, so much so that I didn’t realise I had been in the building for 90 minutes. How much a trip to the dentist had changed!

The whole treatment took 5 weeks, my gums were made healthier by the hygienist, my metal/silver fillings were replaced with state of the art porceain, which believe it or not were made onsite and yes, I watched the technical make my teeth.

The bleaching was easy, I simply sat in the chair, put my feet up and watched a movie, but I must admit, the next day my teeth where really sensitive. I had to phone the dentist who reassured me this was normal and by the next day there was no more sensitivity.

I did have injections which I didn’t like, but a special bubble gum cream was applied first and again that experience wasn’t too bad.

The Results

My smile- well people cannot believe it. Yes I wanted them white but they’re whiter than my friends now, who have now booked with APT also! APT truly are ‘Smile Creators’

What I would tell my friends
The bleaching SmileScription was simple, effective and produced an amazing result at such a reasonable cost.

It is important if you have good teeth to look after them, as dentistry is expensive, but certainly a worthwhile investment. I notice teeth and smiles all of the time now and cannot believe that the most obvious feature on a face is neglected.

APT Says
In cases where teeth are heavily filled or very misaligned, cosmetic crowns may be required. The crowns provided by APT may be all ceramic or have a metal base, producing natural aesthetic, life like smiles.

The benefits of crowns over veneers is the fact that we can move misaligned teeth dramatically and the preparation will protect the underlying tooth. However, crown preparation is not without risk, during preparation the nerve can die as with any procedure and hence full mouth radiographs should be taken to assess the condition of the tooth prior to treatment.
At temporary phase it is important to realise that you will have plastic life like teeth placed in your mouth for 2-3 weeks, whilst our technicians form and create your ideal smile. This can be reduced to 2-3 days if planned in advance.

Overall, a smile can last for many years, but regular maintenance and hygiene is essential in order to retain that ‘natural beauty’.

‘Beauty, Youth and Confidence are found in the silence of a smile’.
