It is fair enough to be aware of a couple of beauty products but a lack of awareness about their application or accompanying them with other essential beauty products can be a little more than an intentional blunder. Some of the beauty mistakes pointed out by Pravda are as follows:

1. Mis-match – A mismatched make-up is seen in your choice of foundation. If your foundation does not match you skin tone then you know how you are going to end-up looking for an evening party.

2. Old in not always gold – If you carry the same hairstyle in every kittie party then be sure your overall look is going to look stale and a complete cliche. Never mind a hair-do or for that matter a new hairstyle..

3. Hydration – Moisturizers primarily hydrate your skin. Therefore you must blend in some lotion with your foundation for a smooth finish.

4. Conceal – An even make-up comes with an even tone that comes by hiding scars and dark spots on skin. This job is done by a concealer or a bronzer.

5. Lips that speak life – Your lips will speak better with a lively shade. With an array of interesting shades this choice should not be difficult for you, especially that match your make-up and the occasion.

There are a number of products that make aur skin look fresh in summer. The Early Show’s stylist to the stars, David Evangelista lists out five important cosmetics that women should carry in the summer.

1. A Skin illuminating pen does a lot in concealing the under eye creases, inflammations and scars on skins in summer. They are ones, which blend into the skin smoothly and give a even tone.

2. Bronzer is the best way to have a natural glow in summer. You have to choose bronzer as per your skin tone to have a even tone.

3. Choose liquid eyeliners that have all-day long formulations.

4. A smudge-free mascara make your eyes cast that spell in summer.

5. Go for a lip gloss that has SPF formulation and a tint which sticks right on your lips.

I want my old face back!

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

“I don’t want a new face…I want my old face back!”

A quote I love, given to me by Chris, a patient of mine.

A typical patient reaching 50 years old and in my eyes ‘wanted something’ but didn’t know what, and yes it made her feel better!

The Treatment:

A combination of Botox around the eyes, forehead and top lip   www.traceybell.co.uk

Sculptra – a volumiser to refill cheeks, lines and wrinkles.  The effect lasting two years and an excellent anti-ageing treatment

Chemical Peels – three mild peels – combining an acid + microderm + renew + rejuvenate the skin.

Lip Enhancement – The lips were redefined and volumised to give a natural uplifting effect.  The results can last six months and again feel and look natural.

Hair – Now I don’t cut hair – but with a new face – how else can I finish, but with a new hair cut and colour.  Women and men often feel it’s just safe to leave well alone, but as we age so many other aspects change.  Colour of skin, tone of hair, facial features to name a few.  So, everyone, get advice because sometimes you just need to chop.

The Result………………

Chris was delighted – Tracey you made me look fantastic, but I feel even better.  That sums it up really – create physical change – Build Emotive Beauty!

Do you have a perfect smile?

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Does a smile have to be perfect? Does it have to be white? Well, what I always say is – it’s simply down to the individual client.  I always get asked to recreate smiles, but what makes a beautiful smile?  Yes teeth,  but also gums and lips are “the frame”.

Every smile is an individual piece of art. Some clients ask for that perfect smile, attend with pictures of Angelina Jolie, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and yes, we can recreate but  individuals attend with requests for a more natural approach,  Louis Walsh is a perfect example of this.

The secret of a good smile design is to keep it simple, keep the patient in mind with regards to costs, maintenance and longevity.  Yes it’s true, a washing machine, a car or a smile doesn’t last forever – it will require maintenance and replacement.

Before and After Veneers

Smile design is a craft, a piece of art can cost as little or as much as you want to pay. All you have to do is ask the right questions and the dental team should deliver.
